Facebook wants to make it easier to control privacy features on the social network in order to give users more control over their profiles.

The company has introduced a new Privacy Basics page to make it easier for people to understand how they can find the tools they need to customize their own accounts.

“Privacy Basics features improved functionality and top topics based on your most frequently asked questions about privacy and security. Built using your feedback, everything is organized so that information about protecting your privacy is easy to find. Privacy Basics puts you in the driver’s seat with 32 interactive guides available in 44 languages,” reads a post on Facebook’s blog.

The new page they introduced makes it easy to find the topics you might be interested in knowing more about. The Top Topics, as Facebook says, is organized based on the most common questions they receive, like who can see photos and posts, how one’s profile looks to others, and perhaps the most important one, how can you stop someone from bothering you. The latter takes you to a small guide towards unfriending people and blocking them from messaging you altogether, an element that’s extremely important in the days of cyber bullying.

The page further provides information about how advertising works on Facebook, how you can control the ads you see from businesses and websites you interact with, and more.

There is also a much-needed category teaching users how to stay safe and secure which includes information about account deactivation and deletion, creating more secure passwords, hacking, trusted contacts that can help you get back on your account if you lose your password, and the brand-new Login Approvals. The latter is a new feature introduced today to help further secure your account by providing a unique code when you try logging in from a new location.
