Facebook is forcing users to download Moments

Just recently, we reported that Facebook took to forcing mobile users to download the Messenger application if they wanted to continue sending messages to friends. Now, it seems that the company has implemented the same move with its Moments app on iOS.

Apparently, Facebook is now forcing Moments app on iOS users who wish to share images with their friends. According to TechCrunch, the company is thus pushing its private photo-sharing app Moments on users.

Facebook has warned users that some of their images will be deleted if the app isn’t installed on their computers. It's worth knowing that the company has been trying to push the application for some time now, and thus, Moments has become one of the most popular names in the App Store.

Facebook is apparently giving users a deadline to move to Moments by July 7 or download their Synced albums. Users also have the alternative to download their albums directly to their computers.

Facebook claims that, after that date, it will remove the album containing Synced Photos, and it is spreading the message through notifications and even emails sent directly to users, which is quite unusual.

Moments will replace Synced Photos file

Nevertheless, Moments app is available on iOS and Android OS. The application allows users to privately share photos with friends and organize their albums in an intuitive way.

The feature was first introduced back in 2012, and it was an optional tool that automatically uploaded images to a private album so that users wouldn’t lose them.

The files were stored in either a folder inside the application or a folder on the desktop called Synced from Phone. Facebook won’t be deleting photos that users uploaded from their phone, just simply the Synced Photos folder unless users get the Moments app.
