Facebook launched the Messenger Platform about two and a half months ago, thus allowing businesses and various developers to build bots for Messenger. The company has announced today that, since the launch of the platform, over 11,000 bots have been created on the platform, and 23,000 developers have signed up for the service.

Bots for Messenger allows businesses to create custom user experiences so that their customers can get in contact with their service via Messenger platform.

The SDK allows developers to build custom layouts for their Messenger chat windows and customize their business in any way they wish. The whole idea behind the concept was to provide customers with an easy way to contact businesses, without having to place a phone call or install an app.

Today, Facebook has informed us that it has added some tools and features for developers and businesses, who can use them when creating bots. The first tool allows users to provide a star rating and text feedback for bot developers. Facebook has also added a quick replies service so that people can interact with businesses faster. The company has implemented ten dynamic buttons for streamlined conversations between users and businesses, as well as for a cleaner history.

Facebook has also announced new content to be added on Messenger blog

In addition, Facebook has brought five actions for navigation, as well as a secure protocol for businesses to connect with their customers. Moreover, the company has introduced more content types, like GIFs, audio, video and files. The newly added content types will surely make conversations more engaging and allow businesses to distribute whatever content they wish to their customers.

Facebook has also announced new ways to optimize experiences with bots in Messenger using a number of control options, like manage, mute or ratings. Only the bot developer has access to ratings and reviews as they’re shared through a dashboard on developers.facebook.com and via email.

This is not all, as Facebook has also stated that new content will be added to Messenger blog platform, including case studies and all sorts of resources that highlight some of the businesses and brands that have already built bots for Messenger.
