The device appears to be a store model for a Mexico shop

We’re only a few days away from the moment Apple starts shipping the iPhone X to first customers, and while everyone is waiting for this to happen, someone apparently based in Mexico posted on YouTube what’s likely to be the first extensive unofficial hands-on video with the device.

While we’ve seen several other hands-on demos with the iPhone X following the September 12 unveiling, all of them were recorded in a controller environment at a media event.

The only unofficial hands-on video with the iPhone X was posted last week and lead to an engineer who allowed her daughter to film the device to get fired.

This time, however, the iPhone X appears to belong to a store in Mexico, and a search after the serial number indicates that it was purchased on October 27. This is most likely a suggestion that the device was pre-ordered and shipped by Apple ahead of the November 3 release when it’s supposed to be handed over to a customer.

IMEI and serial number exposed

As for the hands-on video itself, little can be said that we didn’t know already. The notch no longer looks that bad, at least on a dark background, and the dimensions of the phone make it pretty easy to hold in hand, or at least that’s what we can figure out from the video.

While we’re not going to judge the quality of the hands-on video and the way the guy presents the phone, it’s a little bit odd to see the serial number and the IMEI exposed in the About screen, which makes Apple’s job even easier to determine who got this phone and take the appropriate actions.

Of course, there’s always a chance that this video isn’t real and it’s all just a well-made clone manufactured in China, but by the looks of things, everything aligns perfectly indicating it’s an original iPhone X ready to ship to a lucky customer. This could actually be one of the reasons the man didn’t take off the plastic, so if you live in Mexico and receive an iPhone X with a broken seal, it’s most likely the one in the video.
