14 DAY TRIAL // All representatives of the media have been banned from asking Tom Cruise questions about his family or his love life, and about his involvement with the Church of Scientology, during the promo trail for his latest box office hit, “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.”
That doesn’t stop the tabloids from speculating on what is happening behind closed doors, inside the home of the most famous Scientologist. According to The National Enquirer (via StarPulse), he’s struggling with a very difficult choice: his Church or his daughter.
Tom Cruise is under pressure to choose
Tom Cruise’s third wife was Katie Holmes, with whom he has a daughter, Suri. If we’re to believe reports online, Tom hasn’t seen / spent time with Suri in almost 2 years because he is not allowed to make contact with her and Katie.
Whenever someone defects or is cast out of the Church, they are declared Suppresive Persons (SPs) and are cut off from everybody remaining in the Church, even if they’re close friends or family members.
It’s not unheard of children to disconnect from their parents, or the other way around, or even spouses to cut off ties at the request of the Church, when one of them defects. In this sense, it would make sense for Cruise to be barred from seeing his daughter and his ex-wife after they were declared SPs.
Apparently, he’s not exactly keen on choosing between the 2 options presented to him: either the Church or Suri. Enter Lisa Marie Presley.
Presley is helping Cruise out
According to the tab, Lisa Marie Presley is actively helping Tom Cruise to be reunited with his daughter.
Lisa Marie was a member of Scientology for a very long time and is believed to have defected in 2012. She never directly confirmed it, but in 2013, she spoke of a dark period in her life, when she was involved with people that were trying to control every aspect of her life, from her social interactions, to her career choices and her money.
She was happy she was free because she was finally able to understand how badly off she’d been for such a long time, she said.
Because she defected and she knows everything it entails, Lisa Marie is now in a position in which she can counsel Tom and even facilitate a meeting between him and Suri, the Enquirer would have us believe.
This way, Cruise would get to keep his standing with the Church but also have the closest thing to a normal relationship with his daughter.
