The developers of the Evolution open-source groupware, calendar, and email client used in numerous distributions of GNU/Linux have recently released a massive update for the GNOME 3.16 desktop environment.

Evolution 3.16.4 is the fourth maintenance release of the acclaimed application and it resolves over 60 bugs reported by users since the previous version of the software, Evolution 3.16.3.

Among some of the most important changes, we can mention a fix for duplicate text created by hyperlinks, fixes for wrong casts from 'WebKitDOMCharacterData' and 'WebKitDOMHTMLElement,' as well as grey text color issues in the composer.

Furthermore, personal S/MIME certificates that don't have a proper password are no longer deleted, appointment icons are now hidden in the Month view, g_asserts to g_ret* is no longer used, and the decrypted text is no longer hidden by the inline GPG decryption.

The content in the composer is no longer messed up by the Ctrl+Z keyboard shorcut, users can now select a calendar even when a meeting is found, and Location support has been added to Summary section in the Week View, with inline editing.

It is also very important to mention here that Evolution now depends on the GTK+ 3.12 and GTK+ 3.16 GUI toolkits, and usage of the gtk_style_context_get_background_color() function is now being avoided.

Numerous EHTMLEditor issues have been resolved

In addition to the numerous bugfixes mentioned above, the Evolution 3.16.4 update contains numerous improvements for the EHTMLEditor component. These include fixes for both EHTMLEditorSelection and EHTMLEditorView.

Moreover, the application will no longer save history for several HTML formatting dialogs if the formatting has not been changed, configured Time and Date formats are now used in both Tasks and Memos tooltips.

Last but not least, the Italian, Spanish, Catalan, Hungarian, Galician, Slovak, and Lithuanian language translations have been updated. Download Evolution 3.16.4 right now from Softpedia.
