The GNOME Project is preparing to unleash the second and last maintenance update of the GNOME 3.22 desktop environment, which already started to land in the stable repositories of various GNU/Linux distributions.

GNOME 3.22.2 is currently scheduled for release on November 9, so we can't help but notice that several of the core components and applications from the GNOME Stack have been updated to version 3.22.2 or newer builds that bring assorted bug fixes and improvements.

The Evolution email, calendar and groupware client was also updated to version 3.22.2 today, November 7, 2016, along with its Evolution EWS and Evolution Data Server components, and it looks like it addresses a bunch of issues reported by users since the 3.22.1 stable update.

Here's what's new in Evolution 3.22.2

Among the most important changes implemented in the Evolution 3.22.2 point release, we can mention that it's possible again to add or edit email signatures, inline images won't cause "busy loop" errors on reply, and hitting the Backspace key will no longer cause email contents to shrink font size.

Moreover, it looks like the keyboard shortcuts for the Undo and Redo operations are working again, the Composer will properly inform users when switching messages from HTML to text, it is possible for a meeting invitation to change the calendar, and users can finally switch from "Work Week" to the "Week" view using "Select today."

Last but not least, it is possible to cite text when middle-clicking with the mouse button and Shift key, the Composer was updated again to respect the system's DPI settings, and magic-spacebar works again with WebKit2. There are several other minor changes, so don't hesitate to check out the changelog below for all the technical details on that.
