As part of today's GNOME 3.23.2 development snapshot towards the GNOME 3.24 desktop environment, several core components and apps from the GNOME Stack received many improvements and new features.

While not a popular web browser, Epiphany remains the default for the GNOME Stack, and it looks like it always receives a lot of attention from the GNOME development team. For the GNOME 3.23.2 milestone, Epiphany 3.23.2 and 3.23.2.1 have been released with a bunch of interesting changes.

First off, there's the implementation of hidden homepage settings, along with a new Window action designed to allow users to open a non-incognito window in the Incognito mode. Moreover, it was made possible for Web Apps to share adblock filters with the default profile.

The smart bookmarks functionality makes a comeback in Epiphany 3.23.2 after it was removed in the 3.23.1 snapshot, proper Unicode characters are now used for the graphical user interface, the bookmark page star is now hidden on about pages, and the missing F1 keyboard shortcut that allowed you to open the Help dialog is back.

It's now possible to migrate bookmarks from Epiphany 3.22

There are more good news in the Epiphany 3.23.2.1 milestone, as it now allows you to migrate bookmarks from your stable Epiphany 3.22 instances, and a bunch of miscellaneous memory leaks and crashes have been addressed, which means that the web browser should be more reliable if you're brave enough to take it for a test drive.

Epiphany 3.23.2 also improves the usability of the "Search the Web" menu item, improves support for webcam and microphone requests, no longer requires named password fields for form detection, and updates various translations. Download the Epiphany 3.23.2.1 sources right now from our website, but please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version.
