India is the first country that gets the affordable LG Max. According to the South Korean handset maker, the Max will be available in other countries in Europe and CIS in the coming months.

Although it's been tagged as entry-level, LG Max is far from being cheap if we are to compare it with other affordable smartphones launched in the India every week.

Potential customers should know that LG Max is now available for purchase in India for no less than Rs 10,990 outright, which is about $170 or €155.

Even though the amount might not be that high for customers in other markets, for the Indian market the LG Max is surely overpriced considering its specs.

The only strong point of the LG Max, which is also the main differentiator over other smartphones in the same price range is the fact that it ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

This is the same version of the OS included in the first Android One 2.0 smartphone to be released in India on July 29, the Lava Pixel V1. Obviously, LG Max's Lollipop variant won't be stock, so expect the LG UI to be packed inside as well.

5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) is not enough at this price

Moving on to specs, LG Max sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 854 x 480 pixels resolution. In addition, the smartphone offers both dual-SIM and 3G support.

On the inside, LG Max is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, there's an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording. In the front, there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera with Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash.

LG Max is powered by 2,540 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer. Those interested in acquiring the LG Max should know that the device is available in three color options: gold, titan and white.
