It's been two months since its last update and the Enlightenment 0.21 desktop environment and window manager for Linux-based operating systems has received today a new point release, the sixth in the stable series.

Enlightenment 0.21.6 is a bugfix and stability release that attempts to address various of the issues discovered by the development team behind the open-source software or reported by users since the last update. A total of 28 changes were included in the new version, some of them bringing improvements for the Wayland display server.

Among some interesting improvements implemented in Enlightenment 0.21.6, we can mention that the appmenu can now be activated with click and release, and it will no longer hide when focus goes away. A segmentation fault with the ibar when the icon task menus are up and desktop files are modified was also fixed.

A monotonic clock is now used for frame callback times on Wayland, and the gadget editor pop-up was made scrollable. The Wireless gadget was also improved, and you can find the full changelog attached at the end of the article if you're curious about all the technical details about the new bug fixes.

The Enlightenment 0.21.6 maintenance update is coming soon to a GNU/Linux distro near you, and we recommend updating as soon as that happens, especially if you're using Enlightenment 0.21.5 or an older version. Those who fancy compiling Enlightenment from sources can now download the tarball from our website.

This new update is possible thanks to the hard work of various developers and contributors, including Mike Blumenkrantz, Carsten Haitzler, Derek Foreman, Christopher Michael, Stephen 'Okra' Houston, and Andreas Metzler. Make sure you also read the official release notes.
