HBO’s “Game of Thrones” continues to be a fan- and critic-favorite show, despite whatever controversies might blow up online when fans and industry watchers find the treatment of certain topics, such as rape, questionable. It’s leading the nominations in the Emmys 2015 race, with no less than 24 nods, including in the Outstanding Drama Series one.

The nominations were announced by Cat Deely and Uzo Aduba live from the SilverScreen Theater in Los Angeles. The Emmys 2015, held by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, will take place on September 20 and will air live on FOX.

Second in terms of number of nominations is another fan-favorite, “Mad Men,” but “VEEP,” “Transparent,” “House of Cards” and “How to Get Away with Murder” also got a lot of love.

History will be made in the Best Actress category if either Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”) or Viola Davis (“How to Get Away with Murder”), both nominated, wins: it will be the first time an African-American actress takes home the top honor.

First-time nominees include “Better Caul Saul,” the “Breaking Bad” spinoff that is at its first season, and comedienne Amy Schumer.

Below are the nominees in the major categories: check it out to see if your favorite made it, and if you should tune in on September 20 to root for them. The complete list is available at the link in the second paragraph.
