14 DAY TRIAL // Today, September 13, 2016, the development team behind the Deepin Linux operating system were happy to announce the availability of the third maintenance update to the Deepin 15 series.
Deepin 15.3 has been in development for the past three and a half months, and it promises to be the most effective and elegant release to date. We already know that Deepin is currently one of the most good looking and innovative GNU/Linux distributions, but there's always room for better, so, today, the team announced the availability of a brand new dock (application launcher).
"New dock and its interface background is more simple and generous. System tray is optimized, and its size can be fit with the application contents automatically," reads today's announcement. "New dock only kept fashion mode and efficient mode; supports the adjustment on top, bottom, left and right locations; and can adjust the icon to large, medium and small size. You can freely change location and size."
New beautiful wallpapers, new settings to change them
Also new in Deepin 15.3 is the addition of several new, beautiful wallpapers, along with a setting implemented in the desktop right-click context menu to allow you to more easily change them. But wait, that's not all, as there's also a new real-time preview that lets you see which wallpaper fits better on your workspace.
The system update process has been made more efficient in Deepin 15.3, thanks to the implementation of a system update log in the System Information panel, and many in-house built apps have received new versions, including Deepin Terminal 2.0, Deepin Image Viewer, Deepin Calendar, Launcher, and Control Center.
