The dinosaur appears to be a Brontosaurus

Expecting parents Leanne Sullivan and James Fletcher of Liverpool, UK, had quite a shock when, after a doctor's appointment, they noticed a dinosaur silhouette in an ultrasound scan of their unborn baby girl Ruthie-Lou.

Well, actually, it wasn't they who first noticed the dinosaur, be it its open mouth or its elongated neck. It was family friend Jenny who noticed the uncanny resemblance and pointed it out to the couple.

After this, however, there was no going back. A dinosaur's figure was most definitely lurking over their unborn child, staring at her with its mouth wide open, Leanne and James Fletcher agreed.

“I really didn't see it at all until Jenny mentioned it. But once you have a proper look at it you can really see that it actually does look like a dinosaur,” 29-year-old mother-to-be Leanne Sullivan said in an interview, as cited by Metro.

Since dinosaurs went extinct ages ago, it's safe to assume that the odd-looking silhouette is by no means a Brontosaurus. Instead, chances are it's merely an optical illusion. A creepy one, but an illusion nonetheless.

Interestingly, it was earlier this month that another couple in the UK made headlines when they claimed a gremlin had made a surprise appearance in an ultrasound scan of their baby. The event amused them so much they even considered naming their child Gizmo.
