Owners of Windows Phone 8.1 devices interested in enjoying some track-mixing capabilities on their mobile phones can now download and install the edjing DJ mixing application for that.

The app, one of the most popular DJ apps on Windows, has been released on Microsoft’s mobile operating system too, providing users with an intuitive and refined interface.

The software is available for free, and offers unlimited access to your personal music library with display of track bpm, as well as the option to sort music by bpm.

Moreover, the mobile client enables owners of Windows Phone 8.1 handsets to easily share their mixes on Facebook.

The application includes a wide range of other features as well, such as 2 Turntables + Crossfader to realize professional-like transitions, and the ability to Scratch / Pitch on Vinyl like a real DJ.

At the same time, it includes various free sound effects FX such as Cue, Flanger, Loop, Echo, and Equalizer, as well as Wide Sound Spectrum for optimum Beats localization.

On top of that, the app will provide users with access to a store where additional effects are available for download, including Pre-Cueing, Reverse, Double flipping, Auto Scratch, Reverbs, Gate, TK Filter, and more.

With edjing, users will be able to record up to a whole hour of mixing, and can also choose to make the recording in High Definition CD quality, wave format.

Other features of the app include an AutoMix mode for automatic transitions between titles of the playlists, along with BPM synchronization (sync) to achieve seamless transitions.

“Voted as Best App of the Year at the AppAwards 2013, edjing is the best social DJ app on Windows. The 1st social DJ app transforms your device in a real pocket turntable for free! Already more than 18 million downloads worldwide,” the app’s description reads.

Although the app can offer all of the aforementioned highly appealing features, it appears to be rather buggy at the moment, a recent article on WPCentral reads.

Apparently, it is plagued with crashes and won’t load music coming from the Xbox Music service, so those who are interested in trying it out should keep that in mind.

Moreover, it should be noted that, while the app is available for free, users will have to pay $11.99 (€9) via in-app purchase to unlock a series of additional features, including pre-cueing and no ads.
