The company wants to deliver quality experiences

The problems that Batman: Arkham Knight has been having on the PC since launch, which led to the suspension of actual sales by Warner Bros., show the perils of delivering a title to the market before it is ready.

Publisher Electronic Arts says that it is ready to announce a delay for its upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront in order to make sure that the developers at DICE have the time they need to deliver a very good experience to fans of the universe.

Peter Moore, the chief operating officer at the company, tells MCV that he is aware of the expectations linked to Star Wars: Battlefront and the pressure that the title faces to be both fun and very accurate.

He adds, "You can’t ship it if it doesn’t work or the quality isn’t right. You just bite the bullet. We’d have no compunction, no hesitation that if something went wrong with Battlefront, if it wasn’t right, we would just push it."

The executive also makes it clear that DICE is in the final stages of development and the game is solid when running 40-player multiplayer matches.

Only the finishing touches are now required, and DICE does not have plans to launch a beta stage for the title in order to get feedback from fan base.

Battlefield Hardline has taught Electronic Arts a lesson

The shooter created by Visceral Games had a lot of problems during its own testing phase and EA has decided to delay it from 2014 to this year.

The game was a success when it was finally launched and the developers have delivered the first downloadable content pack, called Criminal Activity, to those who have the Premium package.

Star Wars: Battlefront is set to arrive on November 17 on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

The game is designed to focus on multiplayer action, with gamers able to side with either the Empire or the Rebels and battle on a variety of planets, both on foot and in the skies. They can even become heroes like Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker at certain points.

A free DLC called Battle of Jakku will be launched on December 1 for those who pre-order and one week later for the rest of the community, with content linked to The Force Awakens.
