The public image of the industry is being affected

The chief executive officer of the Quantic Gaming eSports team has gone missing and players and staff are currently saying that they are owed money and that they have no chance of getting access to it unless he is found.

Simon Boudreault cannot be contacted at the moment and has not talked to the team he manages in 2014.

The Daily Dot says that star player Ko Hyun has not received his salary or his prize funds for more than a few months and that he needs 23,000 dollars (17,000 Euro) in order to continue his playing activity.

Joe Eastham, another leader of the team, states, “It is unfair to blame any of these people, from Fuji the COO to me as wrongfully taking HyuN’s money was all Simon’s doing.”

As eSports becomes ever more popular, scams and crime associated with teams might also be on the rise and might pose a problem to the credibility of the industry.
