If you think that pretty much all the eReaders available out there look the same, then you surely haven't taken a look at the Pocket eDGE, Entourage's e-Book reader coming with a dual screen design that redefines the boarder between tablets and eReaders.

Incorporating a monochrome 9.7 inch Wacom Penabled e-Ink screen on the left as well as a 10 inch color resistive touchscreen display on the right, the Pocket eDGE really look a lot different than all the eReaders that we are accustomed too, the device featuring an interesting clamshell like design.

Available in all sort of colors, ranging from the usual black to red, this runs embedded Linux as well as the pretty old Android 1.6 operating system, Entourage preloading its eReader/tablet with all sort of apps like a web browser, Documents to Go, email, journal, music player, Notepad, You Tube and a reader app.

All these are accompanied by a suite of apps that allows photo editing, video editing and PDF converting, the Pocket eDGE also coming bundled with a one-year subscription to Wired Magazine, to make things just a bit more interesting.

Hardware wise, this device comes with 3GB of on-board storage, that can be expanded via a SD slot, a 2MP camera that can also record video as well as two USB port and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connectivity.

The bundles stylus can work with both screens, while the battery can provide its users with more than 16 hours of autonomy in eReader mode, using this as a tablet dropping the battery life to just about 6 hours.

Unfortunately, a 3G version is not yet available, although Entourage did state a while back that we should get such an option in the future along with a Android 2.1 update (although Android 2.2 seems a lot more fitting these days).

Retail price is set at $399, the Pocket eDGE being available only trough the Home Shopping Network for now. (via electronista)
