Prices start between US$299 and US$449

Looking forward to the upcoming 'Back to School' period, eMachines, an Acer wholly owned subsidiary, has just announced the expansion of its line of desktop PC systems with the introduction of three new configurations, coming with a bundled widescreen display and a matching keyboard. All dressed in white, these new desktop PCs are said to be an excellent choice for users looking for a fully capable budget PC that can be upgraded to the latest hardware components on the market, for a boost of performance.

“Consumers on a budget looking for a solid performing PC will find some great choices in the new eMachines line-up,” said Glenn Jystad, senior manager, desktop products, eMachines. “Our new mini-towers provide the horsepower and technology needed for today’s applications at a very reasonable price, and are stylish and compact as well.”

The new line of desktop PCs from eMachines includes the ET1300-02, ET1810-01 and ET1810-03 models and the eMachines E182H wm 18.5-inch widescreen LCD screen. These products come with starting price tags ranging from US$299.99 to US$449.99.

Kicking off with the ET1300-02, eMachines will provide you with an Ahtlon X2 4850e dual-core processor (2.5GHz, 512KB x 2, L2 cache), an NVIDIA GeForce G100 graphics card (512MB memory), 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive, an 18x DVD ROM, a multi-in-one card reader, VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors and six USB 2.0 ports at an MSRP of US$449.99.

The eMachines ET1810-03 offers a Pentium dual-core E2210 processor (2.2GHz, 1MB of L2 cache), integrated NVIDIA GeForce 7050 graphics, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 320GB hard drive, 18x DVD Super-Multi, six USB 2.0 ports, multi-in-one card reader and one VGA port. Equipped with Microsoft's Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 OS, this system comes with an MSRP of US$369.99.

Finally, we have the ET1810-01, which is powered by a Celeron 420 processor (1.6GHz, 512KB L2 cache, integrated GeForce 7050 GPU, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA hard drive, Super-Multi DVD, six USB 2.0 ports, one VGA port and a multi-in-one card reader. There's the same Windows Vista SP1 operating system with a suggested retail price tag of $US299.99. The 18.5-inch widescreen LCD makes use of CrystalBrite technology, offers an HD Ready 1366x768 resolution and comes with an MSRP of US$129.99.
