14 DAY TRIAL // A new eBay Motors iPhone app is available from the iTunes App Store. The solution allows U.S. car owners and car enthusiasts to bid on or buy anything from rare parts to the hottest sports cars, eBay said today.
“eBay Mobile has now brought the ultimate automotive marketplace to your iPhone!”, reads the developer description.
“The eBay Motors app lets you easily browse and shop for the vehicles you want and the vehicle parts and accessories you need, all within an optimized buying experience for the Motors enthusiast.”
The “My Garage” feature clearly stands out as it allows shoppers to add vehicles from their collection of dream cars.
Users can scan any Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to automatically add car details including year, make and model, as well as browse through the extensive eBay Motors inventory to find matching parts and accessories.
“The eBay Motors iPhone app allows users to scan a VIN, add a car to My Garage to surface parts and accessories that fit their cars – making car shopping easy and personalized,” said Steve Yankovich, eBay’s vice president of mobile.
“Motors purchases are already very popular on the main eBay Mobile apps with 90,000 parts and accessories and 2,000 cars purchased per week globally,” Yankovich added.
Other key features of the Motors iPhone app include: integration with eBayMotors.com My Vehicles; photo galleries in each listing; the ability to access vehicle history information with free Experian AutoCheck Vehicle History Reports; the ability to input keywords, categories, models or a price range and get customized home screen slideshows; and search saving tailored to vehicles interested in or owned.
Additionally, users can ask seller questions in every listing to contact the car owner or dealer directly.
