Dying Light developer Techland confirms that it's going to release a final major expansion for the popular open-world zombie game, in the form of The Following, a brand new environment that's quite big and allows players to use buggies to mow down the undead.

Dying Light rolled out at the beginning of the year all around the world, across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The open-world title impressed not only through its pretty good quality but also through the great post-launched support offered by Techland.

The studio released multiple free updates, not to mention plenty of free content and even a few premium expansions that brought new challenges and mechanics.

The final DLC is The Following and adds many new things

Now, the studio confirms the final expansion for Dying Light, in the form of The Following. According to Techland, the new DLC brings a huge environment that's bigger than all the previous add-ons combined. In fact, it also includes a special buggy that players can use to drive around and, of course, mow down the legions of undead.

What's more, in order to hype things up, the studio confirms that many other brand new mechanics are coming in the expansion, many of which were the result of direct fan feedback from the community.

"For Dying Light: The Following, we're adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion. Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavor. The new map alone is the same size as all the previous maps from Dying Light combined, so there is a lot we're packing in here. We also kept a close eye on player feedback to help tailor what we've created here," the studio explains.

Unfortunately, the add-on hasn't received an actual release date. You can admire the buggies in action in the screenshot above.
