Samsung has just unveiled a brand new budget-friendly smartphone meant to compete with Microsoft's Lumia handsets in specific markets.

The new smartphone is now a Galaxy J series device, but a completely different handset called Galaxy V Plus.

Although we thought Samsung Galaxy J1 is one of the cheapest Android smartphone launched by the South Korean company, it looks like the handset maker can go even lower.

The new Samsung Galaxy V Plus is completely unimpressive when it comes to specs, but it looks very appealing from the pricing point of view.

According to GSMDome, the new wallet friendly smartphone is now available for purchase for just $80 (€70), which quite a good deal considering what it has to offer in terms of specs.

First of all, the Galaxy V Plus comes offers dual-SIM support, which makes it the perfect candidate for a release in India in the not so distant future.

Don't expect a Lollipop update for this budget-friendly device

Sadly, the phone ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box, and you shouldn't consider a possible Lollipop upgrade because it's not going to happen.

On the inside, the Galaxy V Plus is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memroy, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

It's also worth mentioning that low-end smartphone sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

There's also a 3-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features LED flash and video recording (480p), while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera.

When it comes to connectivity, the Galaxy V Plus provides users with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS options. Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a 1,500 mAh battery.
