HTC has been on fire lately, as the Taiwanese company continues to launch Android smartphones even though its last flagship was a flop. However, HTC hopes to make a comeback with its newest Android smartphone, the One A9.

But HTC has yet another high-end smartphone in the pipeline, the so-called One X9 that leaked a few days ago. Other mid-range devices are expected to arrive from the Taiwanese handset maker in the next couple of months.

However, today we're going to talk about a smartphone that was already released in China a few months ago, but made its debut in India only today.

According to a new report, HTC Desire 728G is now available for purchase in India for Rs 17,990 outright, which is about $270 or €250.

As mentioned earlier, this is a mid-range smartphone powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with HTC Sense UI on top.

Indian version is downgraded to 1.5GB RAM

Hardware-wise, the Desire 728G is pretty decent, though nothing to brag about. It comes with a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

The smartphone employs the services of an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, and 1.5GB of RAM. The Chinese version, on the other hand, comes with 2GB of RAM inside.

When it comes to storage, HTC Desire 728G offers 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

There's also a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front with fixed-focus.

The Desire 728G comes with dual-SIM support, but it lacks 4G LTE connectivity. It's also worth mentioning that the mid-range smartphone flaunts dual front-facing speakers with BoomSound and Dolby Atmos technology, as well as 2,800 mAh battery with fast charging support.
