The development team at BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are not planning to launch future downloadable content packs for Dragon Age: Inquisition on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The two companies are saying that those gamers who have started playing the game on those older platforms will need to upgrade to the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 in order to play future DLC and can use a new save importer in order to move their data between platforms.

The official site explains that all the new content for Dragon Age: Inquisition will continue to be offered on the PC.

BioWare is also offering a very detailed look at the transfer process for saves, which is separate for the single player and the multiplayer components of the game.

The save importer will be enabled when the next major patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition is launched, at some point in July.

The update is at the moment in testing, with a small number of players making sure that no bugs are included.

The developers are also saying that they are not planning to support save game transfer to and from the PC version of the title.

Only the most recent save that a player has created, regardless of the stage it is in, can be moved from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One and from the PlayStation 3 to the PS4.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will get more single and multiplayer DLC

BioWare has been suggesting that a big announcement about future content drops for the role-playing experience is coming before the end of summer.

The studio might offer details about single player DLC once the next patch is deployed.

Rumors are talking about an extension for the narrative that will include at least one new companion for gamers to recruit, with bigger long-term consequences for the universe that the already available Jaws of Hakkon.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has also managed to create a solid multiplayer community and BioWare has supported it with new characters and special events.

BioWare will probably support Dragon Age: Inquisition all through 2015 and early 2016 and will then shift most of its resources to develop the new Andromeda entry in the Mass Effect franchise.
