The title says it all: a light version of Windows 10 1703

If you’re one of the users who don’t agree with Microsoft’s telemetry system in Windows 10 or you don’t like features like Cortana or Edge browser, here’s something for you.

The Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition is an ISO image that makes it possible to install one of the most lightweight versions of the operating system without the majority of pre-installed apps and features, including here Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and even Windows Defender, which is the default anti-virus that the company is offering with the OS.

Furthermore, you also get a set of features that are not available in Windows 10 by default, such as DirectX 9, .NET Framework 3.5, and the Windows 7 Calculator, which has been replaced with a universal app in Microsoft’s latest operating system.

This Windows 10 version comes packed in an ISO file, and you can install it just like any other operating system by simply burning it to a disc or creating USB installation media.

Before you install

Before you rush to download and install this Windows version, there are a few things that you should know.

First and foremost, it’s not created by Microsoft, but by a user who posted it on the NotebookReview forums. This means it’s unofficial and it doesn’t receive any kind of support if something goes wrong, so you’re all on your own when trying to fix issues or, worse, when trying to deal with problems leading to loss of data or any other problem.

Then, there’s no doubt Microsoft won’t be pleased with it, especially because it removes some essential Windows 10 components, like the telemetry system and Cortana. Telemetry is needed in Windows 10 to further improve the OS and fix issues, so without this feature, Microsoft can no longer do that.

On the other hand, this copy of Windows 10 activates just fine with a genuine product key, though functionality of some apps could be impacted by the lack of certain modules.

It goes without saying that you’re using it at your own risk and only experienced users should give it a try should they really want to.
