The new update brings new buildings and much more

Cities: Skylines has a brand-new patch in the form of update 1.1.1b, which brings a suite of new buildings, options, the auto save capability, as well as pedestrian tunnels and many bug fixes. Unfortunately, it also breaks traffic mod compatibility, at least until modders make a few changes required by the game's developer.

Cities: Skylines is a breakaway hit as the independent city management experience made by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive captured the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of fans from all around the world.

Since then, the game has received a wide array of updates, improvements, and new features from Colossal Order, not to mention great support from the modding community that made an array of new things for the game.

Patch 1.1.1b is now live and breaks mods temporarily

Now, Colossal Order confirms on the official forums that a brand-new update is available for download, taking Cities: Skylines to version 1.1.1b.

The new patch includes an array of all-new enhancements, such as 30 new buildings, tunnels for pedestrians, or the possibility of auto save.

However, some of the changes to mod-specific options in the new update has broken the game's compatibility with many popular mods made by users in the traffic category of the Steam Workshop. Colossal Order already has a guide to help fans make changes to the mods so that they're compatible with version 1.1.1b, but until then it recommends all players to disable mods and the Steam Workshop after installing the patch.

Things should be back to normal as soon as the modders make the necessary changes, so you won't be stuck without the add-ons for that long.
