Battlefield Hardline developer Visceral Games has just rolled out a brand new major patch for the first-person shooter across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, in the form of update 2.0. It fixes crashes, tweaks certain maps, and removes the requirement of a Google Chrome plug-in to enjoy the game.

Battlefield Hardline launched back in March of this year across PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The first-person shooter took quite a few liberties with the core franchise recipe, as developer Visceral Games focused on cops vs. criminals, while bringing forth different modes, maps, and experiences.

The game is still pretty popular across most platforms and it's received a fair amount of patches from Visceral, not to mention expansion packs like Criminal Activity.

Patch 2.0 for Hardline is now available for download

Now, the studio has just released a brand new patch 2.0 for Battlefield Hardline, according to the official forums. The update, while taking the game to a major version number, doesn't bring that many new things, however.

First up, PC users no longer need to have a special Google Chrome plug-in to enjoy the game, as the Origin client provides the necessary functionality, thanks to its own little update. As such, things should go much more smoothly.

On the Xbox One, a certain crash situation has been remedied but Visceral doesn't actually go into detail. PS4 users should no longer experience crashes when navigating through the customize menu.

Certain maps, such as Bank or The Beat, have seen some tweaks in order to prevent players from reaching inaccessible areas or even floating in the sky.

The Server Browser should correctly follow the filters applied by users, while some known Team Deathmatch problems are remedied by the update.

You can download Battlefield Hardline patch 2.0 right now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions. It's unclear if it will appear for PS3 or Xbox 360 users.
