Doom is one of the first-person shooters that have defined the genre, and the team at id Software wants to make sure that the coming four-core installment does the same thing when it arrives on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 on May 13.

A new video from the company shows off the newly introduced playable demons, which are designed to come up with a new level of tension during multiplayer battles and various power weapons that gamers can use to get a boost regarding capabilities.

id Software states, "Many of the demons are based on their campaign counterparts, and each delivers a different set of devastating moves. Demons are also integrated into the gameplay modes, with some modes even making demons a key part of the combat."

Baron of Hell is strength-focused, has powerful melee and brutal Glory Kills, with opponents having to aim for the head or spine to quickly take one down.

The Revenant is quick and agile, having to move into the best positions from which to fire its dual missile launchers while its jetpack gives it the mobility to move across environmental dangers.

id Software says that its weakness is the low health and the fact that a shot that hits its energy core will make it unable to quickly get away,

The Prowler in Doom is great for ambushes, with leaps and attacks that can take down a marine in one hit, while the Mancubus has both high health and powerful long-range attacks.

The power weapons give gamers more options during matches

They will be spawned during matches and only have a limited amount of ammo, which makes them valuable for those looking to deal a lot of damage to enemies quickly.

The power weapons include Gauss cannon, quick firing, and accurate chainsaw, which instantly kills marines and can even quickly damage demons, BFG 9000, a classic with immense destructive power.

The power-ups that are offered in Doom are invisibility, which even works when weapons are fired, haste, which also boosts the rate of fire, regeneration, designed to also recharge armor, and quad damage.

The game will launch with six-core multiplayer modes and nine maps, and id Software is also including the SnapMap set of tools to make it easy for players to create their own battle environments and then share them with the rest of the community.
