Bethesda and id Software have just offered some more details and a gameplay video from their upcoming Doom title, this time going in-depth about the "Glory Kills," which are special finisher moves that can be triggered by players while going through the game.

The old Doom titles delivered quintessential first-person shooter experiences, and after many years, id Software is going back to the old franchise in order to deliver a reboot of sorts that’s simply called Doom.

The new first-person shooter got detailed at E3 2015 through several gameplay videos and plenty of information from id Software and Bethesda.

Now, the two companies have just shared some fresh information and in-depth details about the glory kills system that's available in the new Doom.

First up, in order to stay true to the mantra of keeping players on the move, the special finisher animations have strict time limits so that they don't waste the player's time and don't act as interruptions during regular gameplay.

"We have strict time limits on how long they can last," id Software Chief Technology Officer Robert Duffy explains on the official website. "They’re hundreds of milliseconds, just because you want to keep the player moving."

The mechanic isn't just composed of static animations that loop over depending on the enemy type. According to the two companies, they change depending on different things, such as the position of the player or the environment surrounding him or her. They can also be triggered in a strategic manner and can even be ignored once you complete them.

In order to really show off the gory system, a fresh gameplay video is also available, depicting not just footage from the game but also explanations from id Software's staff that were made to E3 2015 attendees back in June.

The new Doom is scheduled to make its debut in spring of 2016 across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A beta stage, available to those who got Wolfenstein: The New Order, is also set to take place around that time.
