Halo 5: Guardians developer 343 Industries advises fans who are going to pick up the new shooter to take their time through the story campaign. The studio mentions that the whole plot has multiple layers, and if they just breeze past all the sequences, fans can't fully comprehend what's going on.

Halo 5 is set to appear this fall, and developer 343 Industries has already not only talked about the multiplayer campaign and the all-new Warzone mode but also has gone in-depth about the story campaign that can be played solo or cooperatively with up to three other friends.

The plot, according to current information, sees franchise protagonist Master Chief and his Blue team go AWOL for undisclosed reasons. As such, Spartan Locke and Fireteam Osiris must chase them in order to find the truth.

Halo 5's story has many layers

While talking with GameSpot, 343 Industries Narrative Designer Morgan Lockhart emphasizes that the plot of Halo 5: Guardians has multiple layers.

As such, fans who really want to enjoy it should take their time and explore all the different things offered by the story so that they can comprehend the plot and not just get a brief overview of what's going on.

"If you like our story, you'll definitely want to take this one slow. You won't want to rush through it. We definitely approached this story as a story of layers. So there's the high level that you're always going to see that's going to be the driving story that you need to understand to appreciate the game. But then there's a lot of narrative that you won't find if you rush through it. But if you take it slow and look and explore, you're going to find all these rich character and world details," she explains.

The Halo franchise has developed a cult following thanks mainly to its varied stories but also the intense multiplayer modes. As such, Halo 5 is looking set to once again bring a pretty great mix of the two major aspects.
