The development team at Larian Studios is announcing that the Kickstarter effort for Divinity: Original Sin 2 has been very successful, and the 500,000 dollars (460,000 Euro) that it initially requested from fans have been pledged by the community in less than half a day.

The studio has put together a short video to celebrate the occasion and thank those who have backed the project until now.

The company says that it is planning to announce the official stretch goals for the Kickstarter campaign for Divinity: Original Sin 2 later during the day.

At the moment, it is unclear how far the team at Larian is interested in going with them, but it seems that gamers are willing to put up more money for the title, with the current total for the crowdfunding close to reaching 600,000 dollars (550,000 Euro).

There are more than 13,000 people who have backed Divinity: Original Sin 2 and there's plenty of space for others to contribute at the higher levels of the Kickstarter effort.

Gamers who go to PAX Prime during the weekend will be able to get access to a playable version of the game and can also interact with the development team.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is aiming for a bigger world and more interactivity

Larian Studios says that the money coming from Kickstarter is not necessary for the completion of the coming game, but it will give them the space to improve a lot of its mechanics and deliver the kinds of features that fans want.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 will focus on the choices that gamers can make and the consequences they will have for those around them and the rest of the game's world.

Larian also promises improved combat mechanics and more interactivity, as well as an entirely new crafting system.

The narrative of the game will deal with the Source and its wielders, allowing players to expand their magic powers and deal with a world where the Divine Order seeks to control everything.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 does not have an official launch window at the moment.

Larian is still working to get the first installment in the series on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 home consoles.
