A new version of the app helps protect privacy in Windows 10

The Windows 10 privacy saga that started in July continues these days, mostly because Microsoft hasn’t changed anything about the default configuration of the operating system and tracking services are still there to collect your data and send it to the company.

So it’s no surprise that apps supposed to protect your privacy and make sure that no data leaves your computer (at least not without your consent) are so successful these days, so updates released by their devs clearly come in handy to everyone using these.

DisableWinTracking is one of the first and best apps of its kind, so when updates are being rolled out, it’s really worth having a look on the official change log.

Version 2.4.4, which was pushed to users this morning, comes with removal features for the default Windows 10 apps, according to the official information provided by the development team. Similar features were already there, so the app was mostly improved to be faster and more effective when trying to remove the apps that are pre-installed in Windows 10.

Still a very simple and straightforward UI

If there’s something that really deserves to be praised in this app is the UI, which is extremely simple and helps you disable tracking services in a second.

There’s just one window that groups all features under one roof, so you can disable services, block telemetry, tracking domains, IP addresses, stop Defender data collection, and uninstall OneDrive with just one click. An option called “Get Privacy” is also there to perform everything at a time.

On the other hand, this app still needs detailed descriptions of each option, so that users know exactly what they do all the time. Other than that, it’s exactly the tool every privacy-obsessed user needs, so go ahead and download DisableWinTracking to see what it’s up to.
