digiKam 3.0.0 RC Is Now Available for Testing

Gilles Caulier has announced on December 29, 2012, that the Release Candidate version of the upcoming digiKam 3.0 digital photo management app is available for download and testing.

digiKam 3.0.0 RC brings various new features, fixes and improvements, which can be viewed in the official raw changelog.

The final version of digiKam 3.0.0 will include highly anticipated features, such as a video slideshow generator, support for facial recognition, revamped camera user interface revamp, improved integration of Photivo, support for video metadata, a DLNA/UPnP plugin, and as well as ports of KIPI-Plugins and Libkipi to KDE XML-GUI.

Download digiKam 3.0.0 RC right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
