Diablo fans who did not watch the announcements made at BlizzCon 2015 over the weekend will be pleased to know that Blizzard detailed some of the most important changes included in the next patch for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.

Before getting into details, it's worth mentioning that an exact release date for patch 2.4.0 is not yet available, but Blizzard confirmed that it would be pushed live on the PTR in the next couple of weeks following the end of BlizzCon 2015.

Patch 2.4.0 is quite huge and contains new features, new areas, new items, as well as revamped UI and more stash space. These are the most important additions to the game, but the patch adds many other smaller improvements and new features.

First of all, Blizzard has confirmed patch 2.4.0 brings a new zone called Greyhollow Island where players will be able to explore a new stretch of Sanctuary.

Keep in mind, though, that the new zone is exclusive to Adventure Mode, so don't look for it in other modes because you won't find it.

Also, two already existent areas have been expanded: The Eternal Woods and Royal Quarters. Both are exclusive to Adventure Mode so players will be given additional variety to bounties.

Another important change included in patch 2.4.0 is the revision of nearly every one of the 24 class sets in the game. Blizzard confirmed it would completely overhaul some of these sets (Thorns of the Invoker and the Shadow's Mantle) while others will be slightly enhanced (Inna's Mantra and Firebird's Finery).

Season-related changes limited to PC

Furthermore, patch 2.4.0 brings a new feature called Set Dungeons, which is meant to allow players to learn and master their sets in any condition or environment.

Once players complete and don the full six piece of any given class set, they will receive a clue to track down an ancient dungeon designed for them and their set. Keep in mind, though, that these dungeons are randomized.

New Legendaries have been added as well, along with a new feature called Empowered Rifts, which are meant to provide players with a new way to spend their in-game money.

As mentioned earlier, this patch also brings more stash space, which was something that many Diablo players have requested.

Blizzard will also implement a new Season Rebirth option, which allows players to transition from Season to Season quickly and smoothly, without having to wait for the end-of-season purge.

More in-depth details about some the new features and improvements mentioned earlier, along with other new changes included in patch 2.4.0, are now available on Diablo 3's dedicated webpage.
