Diablo 3 update 2.3.0 has just been detailed by Blizzard, with the studio confirming all sorts of brand new things coming to the dungeon crawler, from a new zone to an item called Kanai's Cube that allows characters to get passive skills from dismantled legendary gear.

Diablo 3 has been around for quite some time now, and thanks to the release of the Reaper of Souls expansion last year, not to mention the Ultimate Evil Edition for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, Blizzard's dungeon crawler is still quite popular.

Patch 2.3.0 is coming soon to Public Test Realm

After rolling out all sorts of major updates in recent months, Blizzard has just gone in-depth about patch 2.3.0 for Diablo 3, which should arrive on the Public Test Realm in the very near future.

According to the official website, a wide array of new things are coming, starting with a new zone called Ruins of Sescheron. This icy environment explores the lore of the Barbarians, while providing new enemies, hazards, and a special zone called Tomb of King Kanai, which holds a special treasure named Kanai's Cube.

This new item is similar to the Horadric Cube from Diablo 2. It can combine legendary armor, weapons, and jewelry and allows the special effects to be turned into passive skills for your own character. It can also convert crafting materials from one type to another and pull off other effects, which should get detailed in the future.

Update 2.3.0 also brings changes to crafting, adventure mode, and more

Besides this new zone and item, Diablo 3 patch 2.3.0 also brings tweaks to the crafting system, allowing the same crafting materials that are available at maximum level 70 to drop as you level up. Simpler recipes are also promised by Blizzard.

The Adventure mode will also get a few tweaks including better loot from Horadric Caches, the removal of the Realm of Trials, and a few other things.

The Season Journey experience is coming alongside the patch to Diablo 3, not to mention four new Torment difficulty levels, taking things to a maximum of Torment X. Of course, new legendary and set items are also coming, in order to better equip players that venture into these modes.

Diablo 3 will get patch 2.3.0 on the Public Test Realm in the near future, and when Blizzard is satisfied with it, the update will appear for all players.
