14 DAY TRIAL // After teasing us with the upcoming port of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided video game for Apple's macOS operating system, Feral Interactive announced today the official release date.
Mark your calendars for December 12, 2017, as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will hit your Steam library for Mac, as well as Feral Interactive's online store. The game was ported to macOS by Feral Interactive and uses the latest Metal 2 graphics API for state-of-the-art effects and top-notch performance.
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided brings its state-of-the-art fusion of action and RPG elements to macOS on December 12th," said Feral Interactive in today's announcement. "Mankind Divided comes to macOS using Apple’s Metal graphics API, delivering Deus Ex onto the OS in spectacularly polished form."
Initial release will only support AMD Radeon GPUs
Porting Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to macOS was only possible thanks to Apple’s Metal 2 graphics technology, which comes bundled with the latest macOS High Sierra 10.13 operating system launched on September 25, 2017. However, Feral Interactive couldn't get it to run well enough on Nvidia and Intel GPUs.
Therefore, only those with an AMD Radeon graphics card will be able to play the game when it launches officially on December 12. The good news is that Feral Interactive didn't give up on Intel and Nvidia GPU support, so we believe that they'll push an update in the coming months to add support for these graphics cards too.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an action RPG stealth video game developed by Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix. It was released last year in August for Microsoft Windows operating systems, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles, and it's ported to Linux by Feral Interactive as of November 2016.
Update: Feral Interactive unveiled the system requirements for playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on macOS.
