UK-based video games publisher Feral Interactive, known for porting AAA titles to Linux, macOS, and iOS platforms, announced today their progress on the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided port for macOS.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an action role-playing stealth video game developed by Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix. It was initially launched in August 2016 for Microsoft Windows, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles, and was ported by Feral Interactive to Linux in November 2016.

The game features advanced graphics technologies, so the timing wasn't quite perfect for Feral Interactive to make a macOS port then, as Apple made their Metal 2 API available to game developers during the WWDC developer conference on June 5, 2017, but they promised to port it as soon as Metal 2 API is out.

Coming only to AMD Radeon graphics cards at first

Since June, they worked hard to port Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to macOS, and today they're proud to inform us that the port is in the final stages of development, supporting Apple's Metal 2 graphics technologies. However, they couldn't make the game to run without glitches on Intel and Nvidia GPUs, but only AMD Radeon GPUs.

"Please be aware that despite our best efforts, we couldn’t get Mankind Divided to run well enough on Intel and Nvidia graphics cards. Therefore, the initial release will support AMD graphics cards only," said Feral Interactive in a quick blog announcement published earlier today.

With that in mind, the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided game will soon be available for macOS gamers from Steam and Feral Interactive's online store. If you own the game already, you'll be able to play it on your Mac when it's released. Feral Interactive is yet to make the full system requirements public, along with the official release date.
