Last weekend, actor Shia LaBeouf got himself in trouble with the police again and was arrested in Austin, Texas, and charged with public intoxication. Details of the arrest have emerged online - and they do the former “Transformers” star no favors.

Initial reports did say that LaBeouf was either very intoxicated or very high on drugs, and acting bizarrely because of it. The police affidavit obtained by E! News confirms that: he was acting strangely, telling a cop that he was in the military and trying to insult him out of giving him a ticket.

Shia LaBeouf was verbally and physically aggressive

Trouble began when a cop noticed Shia and a group of other people jaywalking on a very busy street in Austin. Upon approaching the actor, the officer noticed that he appeared very intoxicated, slurring his speech, unable to stand and with glassy eyes.

Apparently, the actor told him that he always got off from getting tickets in LA because the LAPD had killed one of his good friends, TMZ reports.

As this was happening, Shia saw that a by-stander was filming the interaction, so he rushed to him to snatch the phone from his hand. The cop intervened to calm him down, which only made Shia vent his anger on him once more.

Among the things he said was that he was a member of the National Guard. He also puffed his chest many times, called the cop a “silly man” and eventually gave in, telling him to “do whatever the [expletive] you gotta do.”

The cop cuffed him and took him downtown, where he was charged with public intoxication.

Keeping mum

Since the arrest, the second in as many years for the same reason (a reported addiction to alcohol or drugs, or both), Shia has been keeping mum on what happened. However, he is tweeting about it, with the message apparently one that the fans and the media shouldn’t expect to discuss it with them.

You can see his 3 post-arrest tweets below.

Rumors of Shia struggling with addiction have been around for a very long time, but they only picked up considerable speed after he was arrested last year, for disrupting a play on Broadway. After lighting up a cigarette inside the theater, Shia refused to leave and cops had to be called. He spat and tried to bite one, for which reason he was put in a face mask.

He would later admit that he had drunk too much, but he stopped short of admitting he had a problem. Instead, he said he had gotten lost in a new role, so if anyone or anything should be blamed for his behavior, it would be Method acting.
