Hard drive space might be a problem for some of them

The development team at Bungie is announcing that the update 2.0 for Destiny, which is designed to introduce major changes to some of the core features of the social shooter, will be offered on all platforms on September 8.

Gamers should be prepared to receive the big patch on their systems and the studio says they should go through a few steps in order to make sure that no major issues are introduced when the tweaks are deployed.

Bungie states, "We want to make sure you’re prepared when it drops, so Destiny Player Support is doing the most to ensure you know your foe. All Destiny players will be required to download and apply the Update to continue playing even if they do not purchase Destiny: The Taken King."

The first concern gamers should address is hard drive space, with around 18 GB free required on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 to download and apply the 2.0 update.

On the older Xbox 360, gamers will have to clear around 10 GB of hard drive, and on the PlayStation 3 the number is close to 30 GB.

Bungie says that gamers can still opt to upgrade their home console and then transfer the characters, the gear and the progress they have made in Destiny.

The Taken King starts the second year of Destiny

On September 8, gamers will be able to download the 2.0 update and they will then have one week to get acquainted with all the changes that Bungie is making, some of which have not yet been revealed.

The Taken King will be offered on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and older home consoles on September 15.

Once the expansion goes live, players will be able to take part in the new big six main raid centered on Oryx, the hardest ever offered in Destiny.

His dreadnought also becomes the new environment that gamers can explore, designed to be very different from the planets that are already featured in the shooter.

Bungie has one more major live stream to deliver next week in order to give fans more details about other changes made to the core mechanics of Destiny.
