The development team at Bungie is confirming that it will not be able to deliver the major raid that is designed to be part of The Taken King expansion on day one, although it has plans to add it to Destiny relatively soon after September 15.

The information comes from an interview that Like Smith, the director working on the new content, has given to IGN during the PAX Prime event, explaining that fans should not be upset by the announcement.

He states, "It's not going to be available on day one. We definitely have a plan for when it’s going to be available. I’m not going to announce the plan for it on the youtube gaming stage. But I promise for people who are excited about the raid will know when it's time to take time off work. We’ll give em’ a heads up."

It seems that Bungie needs a little more time in order to make sure that King's Fall, the major raid in The Taken King, offers the kind of quality that the community wants and expects, given the experiences that were delivered by Crota's End and Vault of Glass.

When the content is finally introduced to Destiny, it will allow gamers to take on Oryx, the father of Crota, and his new enemies in a set of gameplay challenges that are tougher than anything the title has offered before.

The Taken King will add a range of other content to the social shooter

The development team will offer a lot of new elements for Destiny, with the biggest of them being the Dreadnought environment, which is very different from the planets that gamers have been exploring until now.

Some of the core mechanics of the shooter are also tweaked, with characters now relying more than ever on experience and with a big number of tweaks to the weapons and equipment, all of them designed to give gamers more choices than before.

The Taken King for Destiny will be offered on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and older home consoles on September 15, and one week before that gamers will get access to update 2.0 for the title.

The development team says that gamers should make their consoles ready for the deployment of the patches, mostly by making sure that they have the free space necessary for the download.
