The development team at Bungie is announcing that the Iron Banner game mode is coming back to Destiny at 10 AM Pacific Daylight Time on Tuesday, June 30, designed to offer gamers more opportunities to get access to more items for their Guardians.

The official Twitter account of the game states that gauntlets, chest pieces, machine guns, and for the first time in the history of the mode, the Skorri's Revenge pulse rifle will be offered as rewards.

Bungie is not saying whether it is introducing any sort of tweaks to the Iron Banner experience to improve the balance of the Destiny mode.

Its popularity has declined somewhat since the studio introduced the new Prison of Elders and Trials of Osiris in the House of Wolves expansion, both of which have received a specialized patch in order to deal with some small issues.

Bungie has said that it will continue to introduce tweaks and new rewards for Iron Banner in order to keep it interesting to the player base in the long term.

Destiny is preparing for yet another expansion this year

The Taken King was only a rumor for a long time, but the development team has shown a trailer for it during E3 2015, confirming that it will be focused on the battle against Oryx, who is seeking to punish Guardians for killing his son Crota.

The new area for the expansion is the massive dreadnought that the boss uses, which will offer new opportunities for exploration and treasure seeking.

Bungie is also adding three new subclasses, which are designed to offer a tactical team of three players new capabilities.

Finally, the studio says that a major patch will accompany the expansion and is designed to tweak almost all the core elements of the social shooter based on the feedback the community has been delivering.

The Taken King will be launched on September 15 on all platforms.

On the same date, gamers will be able to get access to the exclusive PlayStation strikes that were offered when the game was first launched and fans will be able to play both classic and re-designed versions of that content.
