Video game developer Bungie is announcing that it plans to re-launch the Iron Banner event for Destiny on October 13, allowing gamers to once again compete for the favor of Lord Saladin, trying to prove that they have the best Guardians when it comes to Player versus Player engagements.

The official site update explains that gamers should "Prepare to control the zones. Level up and choose your weapon. Power still matters, and we’re adjusting the damage curves to work with the new measurement systems."

The new incarnation of Iron Banner in Destiny introduces a range of gameplay changes in order to make the experience more engaging.

Jeremiah Pieschl, the Crucible designer at Bungie, explains that the tempered buff is automatically applied and gets more effective with each day of the event, with potential match completion rewards now offering both weapons and armor.

The development team has been increasing drop rates in order to make them the main source of rewards, with an actual visit to Lord Saladin becoming only a secondary way to get access to the coolest equipment offered.

Legendary Marks are used instead of Glimmer to get items from the character and he has more emblems to offer.

The recommended Light level for Iron Banner is 230 and a level 40 Guardian can lead a Fireteam.

Bungie has more Destiny surprises planned

The development team says that it is happy to see that more and more players are taking part in the King's Fall raid, which allows them to battle major boss Oryx, and that it is aiming to offer more options for those who defeat him and are looking for new content to explore.

The Iron Banner is a great way to pit gamers against one another, giving them a way to show off the power of their Guardian while offering access to some unique equipment rewards.

The company also says that it has more surprises in store for the second year of Destiny action.

The Taken King is the biggest expansion for the shooter so far, designed to introduce a wide range of new content while also tweaking some of the core game mechanics.

Bungie recently also introduced a new hotfix, labeled 2.0.0.5, which eliminates some of the problems that the community has recently mentioned.
