The weapons were also balanced in the December update

The development team at Bungie is not aiming to offer any new official updates for Destiny before the middle half of January 2016, but it seems one of the areas of the game that might get some tweaks are the sniper rifles that some members of the player community have been recently using to execute some impressive moves.

The December changes made to the core elements of the social shooter mean that pulse rifles have received a nerf, and other weapons can be useful in very clearly defined situations and long-range guns are a good way for players to quickly take out enemies.

As some snipers are performing better than ever because of a combination of solid weapon and upgrade choices, a lot of other Destiny players are complaining about the realism of the video game.

A community manager at Bungie writes on the official forums, "It seems you want sniping to behave much more realistically like they would in a military sim. The question is in a game like Destiny where there are Guardians flying through the air, blinking around, and throwing supers at you would having to stand super still and line up shots without moving be viable? Would it be fun?"

The discussion in the thread is interesting because it shows how a variety of gamers approach the same situation with very different ideas and want Bungie to evolve in very different ways.

Bungie is planning a big content drop in early 2016

The developers have already said that they are aiming to offer new experiences associated with Destiny that will be about as big as The Taken King expansion, which redefined many aspects of the game in the fall of the year.

The company has not made it clear whether it plans to introduce only new quests and missions or if it is also planning to add a new major raid, given that a high number of players have already beaten Oryx in King's Fall and even the new challenge mode is proving to be no problem for the most dedicated fans.

We already know that on December 29 Bungie will end the Sparrow Racing League, which means that players have a limited time to get the rewards they might have missed so far.

The Iron Banner Player versus Player mode is returning on the same day, with players able to work in teams to take out opponents and get access to some exclusive weapons and gear.

The Bungie team has made it clear that it wants to continue to improve Destiny over the coming months, with a focus on making sure that the Warlock and the Hunter are as balanced as the Titans are at the moment.

It seems that much of the future of the social shooter is linked to the money derived from the microtransactions offered via the new Eververse Trading Company.

Meanwhile, Activision has also suggested that later in 2016 Destiny will also receive a classic paid for expansion, although so far no details about it have been offered.
