A solution will probably arrive by the end of the weekend

The development team at Bungie is ready to acknowledge that Destiny is at the moment affected by Caterpillar errors and says that it is working on a fix for the issues that many gamers are currently seeing with the social shooter.

The information comes from the official support Twitter account, and it seems that more than 12 hours after the initial message, the studio has not yet found a solution, with gamers commenting on the fact that they are still unable to play the title normally.

Caterpillar means that players will have to try and restart their activity or even the entire game to make progress, but the fact that the error is not subsiding is also a sign that Bungie is directly working on the server infrastructure.

The problems might also be associated with the increased number of people currently engaging with Destiny after they picked up a copy over Black Friday, and it might take until the end of the weekend to eliminate all problems.

The game was previously affected by issues with the PlayStation Network on both the PlayStation 4 and the PS3, but Sony has managed to stabilize its infrastructure since then.

The team at Bungie will make an announcement on Twitter when it manages to restore full service to the social shooter.

Destiny has launched Refer-a-Friend and will get more content in December

The shooter has entered its second year of life, and Bungie says that it is planning to continue to deliver long-term support through updates and content drops.

The most interesting recent addition to Destiny is the Refer-a-Friend feature that allows veteran players to pair up with newcomers to show them the core features, with both earning access to solid rewards, including unique swords, emblems, shaders and emotes.

In December, the developers are planning to offer a content update that will focus on the weapon balance in Destiny, trying to add variety to the experience by persuading more Guardians to use all the categories the shooter includes.

Bungie is also adding two unique exotics and plans to bring back a range of items that were offered in the past with some updated stats.

There are also plans to add a new Challenge Modes tweak to the King's Fall raid, making one of the featured bosses harder to fight for one week to offer a challenge even for those who have defeated them on Hard difficulty.

The studio has not yet offered information on the kinds of rewards that gamers will be able to get.

In December, Destiny will also re-introduce the Iron Banner Player versus Player mode, and gamers will need to reach 303 light level in order to be competitive.

So far, the company has not revealed plans for a Christmas-themed event, but it's a good bet that gamers will have a chance to get special rewards and new emotes.

Rumors are suggesting that Bungie is working on a sequel to the title that will be revealed next year and will be launched only on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in late 2016.
