We’re less than a week away from the release of Demi Lovato’s new album, “Confident,” but she’s making sure her Lovatics have something to go on until then. The former Disney star has released a new single and a kickass music video for it.

The song is called “Confident,” same as the album, and it’s all about female empowerment. The video stars Michelle Rodriguez, aka one of the most famous female action movie stars of the moment, and Jeff Fahey as the bad guy (not at all a surprising choice, if you think about it).

It was directed by Robert Rodriguez and it plays like a short film, offering a new look at Demi’s wilder, fighter side.

We see her as an inmate in a maximum security prison, getting the chance to receive a pardon if she tracks down and takes out Michelle Rodriguez. Once out and face to face with her nemesis, she finds out that Michelle had been given the same mission.

Obviously, the guy who sent them both on this mission, Fahey, is nothing but a corrupt cop looking to have some fun by organizing real-life Hunger Games.

As noted above, the “Confident” video plays like a short action film, complete with fights, explosions, crashes, leather outfits, lots of pouting and Michelle Rodriguez’s hard-rock abs. You can see it in full and in HD below, enjoy!
