14 DAY TRIAL // Demi Lovato is more confident than ever, and in case the name of her upcoming album (“Confident,” out on October 16) didn’t convince you, Complex Magazine comes with a photospread that should do the trick. It is, without a doubt, the most risqué shoot Demi ever took part in.

Demi also did an interview with the magazine, in which she talked, among other things, about her supposed lesbian fling with model turned “Orange Is the New Black” star Ruby Rose and her current relationship with beau Wilmer Valderrama.
Demi Lovato is confident and she’s showing it
Demi’s trajectory in showbiz is not a novelty in itself: young Disney star gets derailed by drugs, goes to rehab, emerges a new person and starts afresh, that’s the kind of narrative the public is already accustomed to. Where Demi is different is that, when she came out of rehab, she also came clean to her fans and the world at large.
In the years that followed, Demi has been very open about her eating disorder, her drug problems and the self-esteem issues that triggered and fueled both. This has helped her become a role model for a whole new generation of girls, because she reinvented the rules of the game.
She started by letting the world know that she would no longer do the impossible to meet other people’s expectations of herself: she would try to make it by being herself and making no compromise about it.
Today, Demi is still being fat-shamed on social media, but she always shrugs it off. She is, as the name of her upcoming album suggests, confident and shouting it from rooftops. And in case you still had doubts just how confident she is, well, it turns out she’s confident enough to bare it all for a new spread.
Those Ruby Rose romance rumors
Some time ago, Ruby Rose said that she’s the only woman who slept with Demi who didn’t sell her photos to the media. No one knows whether she was joking or not, and chances are we won’t find out from her because she’s not taking questions on the topic.
Demi suggests that it was just a joke.
“Rumors are rumors, and people are going to spread them. You can believe what you want, but no, I was not in a relationship with her. By the way, love is fluid,” she tells the mag. “Whether there's been rumors with one specific person or not, that's all that matters. Humans are humans, and when you connect with somebody on a spiritual level it doesn't matter.”
Right now, her connection on this spiritual level is Wilmer, Demi says, bringing the discussion to a close. She adds that she’s thinking of having a rustic kind of wedding.
