14 DAY TRIAL // After being in development for the past few months, the Deepin 15.5 Linux-based operating system was officially released today with numerous new features and improvements.
Known as one of the most beautiful GNU/Linux distributions, Deepin provides a safe, secure, reliable, and easy-to-use computer operating system for users of all ages and genre. The latest release, Deepin 15.5, is now available for download bringing full support for HiDPI displays, as well as support for the Flatpak universal binary format.
"Deepin 15.5 mainly added HiDPI, fingerprint scanning and Flatpak application format. Deepin Desktop Environment and various components fully support the adaptation of HiDPI, auto-identify the appropriate resolution for HiDPI. The interface, fonts and icons are shown more clearly and harmoniously," reads today's announcement.
Deepin 15.5 is also the first release of the GNU/Linux distribution to ship with fingerprint scanning support for scanning and pressing fingerprint devices, which is used for locking and unlocking the screen or on authentication dialogs, along with improved touchpad gestures for more gesture recognition on laptops.
Introducing Deepin Clone and Deepin Recovery
Two new apps have been included in Deepin 15.5, namely Deepin Clone and Deepin Recovery, which let users clone, backup, and restore entire disk drives or partitions, as well as to repair your computer's boot partition when it no longer starts or format a drive in case of emergency.
Other noteworthy features included are Wi-Fi hotspot sharing, the ability to adjust the color temperature of the screen, comprehensive optimization of the network module and the Deepin Desktop Environment, porting of the Deepin Crosswalk app to the new web application framework, and latest Deepin Wine version.
