14 DAY TRIAL // The development team behind the Debian-based deepin Linux distribution announced today, April 19, 2017, the release and immediate availability for download of deepin 15.4.
deepin 15.4 has been in development for the past two months, during which it received several Beta and RC milestones that implemented many of the features users can now finally enjoy on their personal computers if they upgrade from the previous version or reinstall the operating system using the new Live ISO image.
Prominent features of deepin 15.4 include revamped Control Center with a gorgeous design and useful interactions, quick access icons for commonly used settings, and weather and notifications via plugins, a smarter installer to provide users with a smoother deepin installation experience.
"deepin 15.4 has brand new design for Control Center and desktop, it adopted new blur and transparent style, new interactions for hot corner and window manager along with selective wallpapers, fullscreen installation interface, latest stable kernel version and Deepin original applications," reads the announcement.

deepin 15.4 is equipped with the Linux 4.9.8 kernel to provide better support for the latest hardware, says goodbye to pop-up hints for fonts in WPS Office thanks to the implementation of MT Extra and webdings symbol fonts, optimizes the interaction effects for the window manager, and adds multi-touch gestures for touchpads.
Among other interesting features of deepin 15.4, we can mention the ability to set a different wallpaper for each of the virtual workspaces, a brand new interaction experience for desktop hot corners, optimized UI and interaction of the Launcher, and 12hr/24hr time switching support in the panel.
An experimental Remote Screen Projection function is available in the Control Center, and deepin 15.4 comes with Deepin Screen Recorder, Deepin Voice Recorder, CrossOver 16, QQ 8.9, and Foxit Reader apps preinstalled.
