14 DAY TRIAL // Debian developer Niels Thykier published the other day a call for artwork proposals for the upcoming Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" operating system, which is coming in the following months.
Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" is the next major update of the acclaimed, award-winning, and widely used Linux kernel-based operating system on which numerous GNU/Linux distributions are based, including but not limited to the popular Ubuntu.
The upcoming Debian release is currently being developed under the Debian Testing umbrella, which users can install and use as their daily driver. And from the looks of it, the Debian devs are looking for people to contribute new artwork to the OS.
"This is the official call for proposals for the Stretch cycle," said Niels Thykier. "So, if you would like (or know someone who would like) to create a desktop look and feel that will be seen by trillions of people (pun intended), be sure to send in your artwork ASAP!"
Send your artwork until September 5, 2016
The deadline for artwork submissions for Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" has been set for September 5, 2016, which means that the long-anticipated operating system might be released this fall after all.
As usual, the Debian devs are looking for themes that are clean, well designed, easy on the eye, compatible with GNOME core software used on the Debian distro by default, don't require GTK+ or GDM patching, and use the Debian Logo guidelines.
