As expected, the recently released Debian GNU/Linux 9.2 "Stretch" maintenance update is now available to download from the official mirrors as installable and live ISOs for those who want to deploy the Linux OS on new PCs.

Debian GNU/Linux 9.2 is the second point release of the Debian Stretch operating system series, coming two and a half months after the first maintenance update. As initially reported, it brings more than 150 security and bug fixes combined, offering users an up-to-date installation medium.

As you are aware, this point release doesn't constitute a new Debian GNU/Linux 9 version, but only a refreshed installation medium for those who planned on reinstalling their Debian PCs or install the popular Linux distro on more computer without having to download hundreds of updates from the official repositories.

Debian GNU/Linux 9.2 "Stretch" Live ISOs let you try the OS

So if you're planning on installing the latest stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 "Stretch" operating system, you can now download the installations images for 64-bit (amd64), 32-bit (i386), ARM64 (AArch64), Armel, ARMhf, MIPS, MIPSel, MIPS64el, PPC64el, and s390x hardware architectures.

Live ISOs are available for download as well, shipping in multiple flavors with the GNOME, KDE, Xfce, LXDE, Cinnamon, and MATE desktop environments, but only for 64-bit and 32-bit systems. These will allow users to try out Debian GNU/Linux 9.2 "Stretch" without installing anything on their personal computers.

Without any further ado, go ahead and grab those images if you want to install Debian GNU/Linux 9.2. Otherwise, existing Debian Stretch installations can be kept up-to-date by simply running the "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" command in a terminal emulator.
