Q4OS team informs Softpedia today on the general availability of a new desktop theme for the Trinity Desktop Environment used in their Debian-based GNU/Linux distribution.

Q4OS is a small GNU/Linux distribution based on the latest Debian GNU/Linux operating system and built around the Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE). It's explicitly designed to make the Microsoft Windows to Linux transition accessible and more straightforward as possible for anyone.

Dubbed Debonaire, the new desktop theme uses dark-ish elements for the window titlebar and panel. Somehow it resembles the look and feels of the acclaimed Arc GTK+ theme, and it makes the Q4OS operating system more modern than the standard look offered by the Trinity Desktop Environment.

"We introduce a new visual desktop theme called "Debonaire," wrote the Q4OS developers in a forum post. "Debonaire is marked as testing at the moment. However, it's fully stable and could be used safely. Every Q4OS user can easily switch to "Debonaire" desktop using LookSwitcher application."

Here's how to install the Debonaire theme on Q4OS

All Q4OS users can now install the Debonaire theme on their computers via the LookSwitcher app, which they can download and install from the Software Center package manager. Once installed, open the LookSwitcher application and click on the "Show all themes" button located on the bottom left of the window to display the "Debonaire" entry in the list of themes.

Before they enable it by default in a future release of the operating system, the Q4OS team would like for you to install the Debonaire theme on your Q4OS installation, test it, and post feedback (positive or negative) in the forum thread. If you don't use Q4OS, you can download the latest release, Q4OS 2.4 "Scorpion," right now from out website.
